This new session, which dealt with clinical themes, attracted a lot of attention.

On November 17th 2024, the 70th Japan Aerospace Environmental Medical Association Conference was held at Jikei University School of Medicine, and “Panel Discussion 3: Space x Emergency Medicine” was held.

The theme was “What kind of response can be considered if emergency medical care is needed in space?”, and a clinical physician with knowledge of space medicine conducted a case conference.

In the future, when many ordinary people will be staying in space, there is a good chance that they will develop emergency illnesses such as stroke, myocardial infarction, and infectious diseases, but there has not yet been sufficient discussion of how to respond to these in space, where medical resources are limited.

Our company’s representative, Dr. Goto, acted as a case specialist, and our director, Dr. Ishibashi, acted as the chairperson, and together with other expert doctors and JAXA flight surgeons, they engaged in a heated discussion.
