Low-frequency electrical stimulation developed for use in space medicine, research results published in Chiba Medical J.
On September 10, 2024, the results of research by academia into the use of low-frequency therapeutic devices in space-based medical care, in which our company was involved, were published in the Chiba Medical J.
This is a study that examined the effectiveness of low-frequency electrical stimulation (LFES) as a cost-effective solution to non-communicable diseases (NCDs), which have a significant impact on society.
Monitoring parameters such as blood flow, blood viscosity, heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, body surface temperature, autonomic nervous balance, and pain assessment, it was observed that there was an increase in blood flow, a decrease in blood viscosity fluctuations, an increase in body surface temperature, harmonization of autonomic nervous activity, and a gradual decrease in systolic blood pressure.
Low-frequency electrical stimulation is particularly useful for personalized medicine for lifestyle-related diseases and mental health, and it also shows potential for use in medical care in closed environments such as disaster shelters and future space stations.
